TSUNAMI IN MAKING OR LEADERSHIP VOID

When we humans were evolved on this planet we were hungry and in order to nourish our body we had to feed it. Even in the prehistoric time our basic need was food, when families started to develop we required shelter. Families converged into tribes as they got bigger they required more hunting grounds and the superior tribe enslaved or eliminated smaller ones. Should we comprehend that the bigger tribe subjugated the smaller one or was their some other factor like Superiority, Size, Bravery, Strength, with all these they had something known as LEADERSHIP a leader inculcate harmony amongst his community without which no one can succeed in achieving desired goals or objectives. How tribes did elect or select their leader? Did democracy, monarchy exist in such times or was there dictatorship? Possibly a combination of all three.

The leader had to be brave, wise and could lead from the front. Allow me to quote Sun Tzu a Chinese Wiseman in his book The Art of War,Translated by Lionel Giles London : Luzac & co., 1910. Once you read the following words of wisdom perhaps you may understand the vibes of each sentence.

1. Sun Tzu said: The art of war is of vital importance to the State.

2. It is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected.

3. The art of war, then, is governed by five constant factors, to be taken into account in one’s deliberations, when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.

4. These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth; (4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

6. The Moral Law causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him regardless of their lives, undismayed by any danger.

7. Heaven signifies night and day, cold and heat, times and seasons.

8. Earth comprises distances, great and small; danger and security; open ground and narrow passes; the chances of life and death.

9. The Commander stands for the virtues of wisdom, sincerity, benevolence, courage and strictness.

10. By method and discipline are to be understood the marshaling of the army in its proper subdivisions, the graduations of rank among the officers, the maintenance of roads by which supplies may reach the army, and the control of military expenditure.

11. These five heads should be familiar to every general: he who knows them will be victorious; he who knows them not will fail.

12. Therefore, in your deliberations, when seeking to determine the military conditions, let them be made the basis of a comparison, in this wise:–

13.                         (1) Which of the two sovereigns is imbued with the Moral law?

                              (2) Which of the two generals has most ability?

                              (3) With whom lie the advantages derived from Heaven and Earth?

                              (4) On which side is discipline most rigorously enforced?

                              (5) Which army is stronger?

                             (6) On which side are officers and men more highly trained?

                             (7) In which army is there the greater constancy both in reward and punishment?

14. By means of these seven considerations I can forecast victory or defeat.

15. The general that hearkens to my counsel and acts upon it will conquer: let such a one be retained in command! The general that hearkens not to my counsel nor acts upon it, will suffer defeat:–let such a one be dismissed!

These seven golden rules make a good general or a leader. Do our leaders have any one of these traits? All they have power over is greed for the green buck no matter how it is earned?

Earned! means livelihood you work or do business or are employed to earn for food, shelter and other needs for yourself and your family. You earn your salary or sweat money of your toils with honesty and complete dedication.

But what do our select few accomplish? Even after 63 years of been independent state we still are dependent on others.  Our begging bowl is far bigger then 170 million people of Pakistan requirements.

Our taxation is outdated and is one of the most corrupt. Yet we claim to be in the 21st century. We have neither learnt success or let’s say disastrous stories of other nations. But we are making one gloomy legend. In less then three years we had to change three Finance Minister’s now the recent incumbent will also depart after he fetch in a couple of billion dollars latest by the end of this year? Last but not least we also changed three State Bank Governors too. Countries or be it company’s cannot prosper if heads keep parting. Policies made take time to materialize.

Everyone is talking about the austerity measures proposed by the FM or it is the other way round. The 10% cut in the salaries of the federal cabinet members is nothing but a deception infact they will get 40% more funds: see The News report of June 6th 2010. Whereas the people of Pakistan will be strained and drained to foot this bill of the elected idiots we have. If the present Finance Minister had the foresight, he should have looked at prevailing prices of selected items.l. Or he could have read IRI Index Pakistan Public Opinion Survey July 15 – August 7, 2009. But what can he or in case any one else could do. With a battalion, of ministers’ advisors and consultants do nothing but bleed us dry. What job the PM has? To administer the plunderers of this nation.

BIRDS EYE VIEW OF PRICE CHANGE.

Government’s the world over earn revenue through various modes of taxes and one of the major source is tax on energy. In our country our elected flounce off such measures by deliberately rationing the Energy so that they can earn kick backs. Had someone asked asshole like myself, I would have gone for Wind and Solar Power Projects even Bio-Gas and Coal fired Plants are working world over rather then oil fired plants. By the year 2020 the price per barrel of oil will be around 245 US$ what will then be the per kilowatt price? Prepare yourself for candle light. Buying obsolete plants is a great Pakistani obsession.  PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT IN THE LAST TWO YEARS ELECTRICITY TARIFF HAS BEEN INCREASED BY 52 OR 58%. HAVE YOU EVER CALCULATED?

Electricity Problem: Is there really any shortage???

Electricity produced in Pakistan is from three main sources.

1). Hydel
2). Thermal (Gas/Steam/Furnace Oil)
3). Nuclear

There are four major power producers in country which include Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC).

Below is the break-up of the installed capacity of each of these power producers (as of June-2008).

Hydel Electricity generated by WAPDA varies between two extremities i.e. between minimum of 2414 MW and maximum of 6761 MW depending upon the river flow through the whole year.

Total Power Generation Capacity of Pakistan (including all sources) is 19948 MW (plus individual power plants in factories) and the electricity demand (as of 20-04-2010) is 14500 MW and PEPCO is merely generating 10000 MW.

So it is obvious that these 15-20 hrs power shutdowns in most parts of the country are not because of the lack of generation capacity but only because of policies of corrupt leaders. The Power Generation companies are not buying Furnace Oil from PSO by saying they don’t have money to do that but we are all paying for electricity that is generated from Furnace Oil. This is the reason that top refineries like PRL are operating at 40% capacities.. But due to this fact all our industries are under severe crisis. None of our political party who are in Assembly are ready to speak on it because everyone is blessed by USA / IMF / WORLD Bank whether it PPP, PML (N) PML(Q), MQM , ANP JI or JUI. Guys, have you ever looked at your electricity bills? If yes then tell me what stands for NJS? Or ask me? This surcharge we are paying for ages.

When will our nation wake up from its slumber? We all are standing on an incline which is coated with slime this time if we lose our balance we all will be at the bottom of an abyss. Today our food, shelter and clothe all gone. When our bodies will perish God knows.
